The principal, Michael E. Barrett, brings years of successful, hands-on experience to MBA. This includes managing product development teams in highly successful projects valued into the millions of dollars. Mr. Barrett holds several patents and the results of his work can be seen today in a wide variety of well-known products from both major and smaller manufacturers.
Mike Barrett has held responsible technical, engineering, and managerial positions with such well-known companies as AMF, TRW, Schlumberger, Singer (Craftsman Power Tools), and Jacobs Manufacturing. In working with other product development companies, the client list has included notable companies such as Grumman Aerospace, Home Depot, Bi-Lo, Publix, and Lowe's.
In the consulting field, Mr. Barrett has worked with first-tier automotive suppliers to BMW, Ford, General Motors, Mitsubishi, and Chrysler. He has worked with other firms in providing product development for Healthdyne, Nike, and DentalEZ. His partial client list includes MSK Covertech, GmbH, Black & Decker, Dittler Brothers, Ryobi Consumer Motor Products, Koyo Bearing, Brainard-Kilman, Leshner, Golf Training Systems, FTZ Industries, and Silgan Plastics.
He has been a member of the Engineering Committee of the Power Tool Institute and has been on committees of the Chain Saw Manufacturers Association. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Southern Polytechnic State University Alumni Association. He also has held membership in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Mike Barrett earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Technology degree from Southern Polytechnic State University, Marietta, Georgia.
He also has completed graduate course work in Mechanical Engineering at Clemson University, Clemson, South Carolina.
